Corner Casting

• Standard Compliance: Most castings are manufactured to ISO 1161 standards, ensuring global compatibility with twist locks, cranes, and chassis.
• Dimensions: The standard size is typically 178mm x 162mm x 118mm (approx. 7" x 6.4" x 4.6").
• Materials: Usually made from high-strength casting steel (e.g., SCW480 or SCW490) or Corten steel for corrosion resistance. Some variations exist in stainless steel or aluminum for specialized use.
• Weight: Each piece typically weighs approximately 10.5 kg to 12.5 kg (23–27 lbs).
• Structural Variants: A full set of 8 pieces includes four distinct types: Top Left (TL), Top Right (TR), Bottom Left (BL), and Bottom Right (BR). 

• Stacking and Locking: The top and bottom castings are designed differently to facilitate secure stacking. Top castings have a "shield" or "acorn" shaped side hole, while bottom castings often feature semicircular or stadium-shaped holes.
• Lifting: They provide the reinforced points for crane spreaders or side-loaders to engage the container safely.
• Installation: In new builds, they are typically welded to the container's corner posts. For repairs or temporary structures, bolt-on versions may be used.
• Durability: High-quality castings are tested for extreme temperature resistance (often down to -40°C) and high breaking strengths (up to 50 tons). 

• Modular Buildings: Used in container homes and portable offices for structural integrity.
• Industrial Frames: Integrated into custom steel frames to allow them to be moved and stacked like standard containers.
• Lifting Equipment: Used as connection points for specialized lifting rigs or caster wheel sets.
